Jina’s wardrobe notes

A few things to consider

01

Stay true to your style

If you love a flowing dress, wear it. If you feel more like yourself in a simple shirt and jeans, start there. Your portraits should feel like you, so choose an outfit you can settle into comfortably.

You don’t have to dress like someone else to look beautiful.

Bring your outfits together

Choose one outfit you love and use its colors to guide the others. Mix shades that complement each other, giving everyone room to wear something that suits them. The goal is a family that looks beautiful together.

Add a little softness & detail

A soft sweater, a linen shirt, or a dress with a little movement can add so much to a photograph. Keep layers and accessories thoughtful, and make sure you can sit, walk, and hold your little ones comfortably.

Let your faces stand out

Small details can make a difference. Choose subtle prints over bold graphics, and give a patterned outfit some breathing room by keeping the other pieces simple. I want your expressions to be what you notice first.

Before you head out

Your final outfit check

Keep it simple

A simple outfit gives your expressions room to shine.

Love what you wear

Try it on ahead of time. You should feel good moving in it.

Dress together

Lay everyone’s outfits side by side to see how they work.

Check the details

Give shoes, accessories, and visible logos one last look.
