The Power of the Right Room

You’ve probably seen the quote:

“Surround yourself with women who would mention your name in a room full of opportunities.”

It hits different when you’re a business owner especially in an industry where competition can feel louder than community.

As a full-time photographer, I’ve learned that building a business is one thing… but building it alongside women who want to see you thrive? That’s rare. Really rare.

The truth is, not everyone wants to see you win. Especially when you’re in the same field. It’s hard to find people who understand your daily grind, who know what it takes to shoot all day, edit all night, manage a brand, and still try to pour into your family — and your clients — with everything you’ve got.

But I’ve been blessed with two women who do exactly that.

We’re all photographers. We’re all creatives. We all have our own clients, our own styles, our own goals. But we don’t compete, we champion each other. We celebrate wins, brainstorm big dreams, call each other out when it’s needed, and show up when it matters most. And most importantly? I know without a doubt they’d speak my name in that room full of opportunities.

There’s something powerful about being surrounded by women who get it. Who don’t view your success as a threat. Who believe that there is more than enough room at the table for all of us. That’s not just good for business it’s good for the soul.
